Steve Lindo
BIOGRAPHY: With more than 30 years’ experience in U.S. and international risk management, Steve Lindo provides hands-on risk management expertise in banking, asset management, insurance and non-financial sectors. He specializes in risk governance, education and strategy, financial technology innovation, risk data management, regulatory expertise, AML and information risk management. His expertise includes acting as independent risk advisor on high-stakes strategies, expert witness testimony, designing and implementing risk management frameworks, policies, limits and measurement systems to manage market, credit, liquidity, operational, derivative, reputation, strategic and cross-border risks. His career includes risk management positions at Fifth Third Bancorp, GMAC Financial Services (now Ally Financial), Cargill’s proprietary financial trading group (prior to its de-consolidation into two separate hedge funds). First National Bank of Chicago (now part of JPMorgan Chase) and Lloyds Bank, in the USA, UK, Spain and Brazil. In 2010, Mr. Lindo completed a two‐year engagement as Executive Director of PRMIA – The Professional Risk Managers’ International Association, a non‐profit member organization with over 75,000 members in 198 countries. Mr. Lindo is a Lead Instructor and Course Designer at Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies, teaching Financial Risk Management to MSc students in Enterprise Risk Management. He is also a regular presenter at conferences, webinars and author of risk management articles and case studies. Mr. Lindo has a BA and MA from Oxford University and speaks fluent French, German, Spanish and Portuguese.
